Confidential book ghostwriting

You have the story.
We'll write the book.

Most people who hire a ghostwriter aren't short of ideas — they're short of time, or stuck on the blank page. You talk; we record, structure and write. Every chapter sounds like you, and your name is the only one on the cover.

Sound familiar?

Is something like this stopping you from writing your book?

These are the questions we hear on almost every first call. If one of them is yours, you're in the right place.

"I know exactly what I want to say — so why can't I get it on paper?"

Talking and writing use different muscles. Many successful founders, doctors and storytellers speak brilliantly and freeze at a keyboard. Ghostwriting lets you do the part you're good at — telling the story — while a professional handles structure and prose.

"Will it actually sound like me, or like a hired writer?"

It should sound like you on your best day. We record every interview, keep your phrases and rhythms, and send chapters as we go so you can say "I'd never put it that way" early — not after 70,000 words.

"Some of my story is private. Can I trust someone with it?"

You sign nothing until you're comfortable, and we sign an NDA before sensitive details are shared. Your writer is never named without your permission, and files are stored securely.

"Why do ghostwriting prices range from $2,000 to $100,000?"

Because they're not the same product. Length, research, interview hours and the writer's experience drive the cost. Very cheap offers often mean recycled or AI-generated text. We explain what drives your quote and fix the price in writing.

What we do

Ghostwriting for the book you actually need

Different books need different writers. We match you with someone who has written your kind of book before.

Most requested

Memoir & life story

Your memories turned into scenes, not a list of events. We help you decide what to include, what to leave out, and how to handle family members honestly and fairly.

Best for: personal stories, family legacy books, overcoming-adversity memoirs

Business & expertise books

A book that explains your method clearly and earns trust with clients, speaking bookers and media. We turn your frameworks, case studies and talks into a structured argument.

Best for: founders, consultants, coaches, doctors, lawyers

Self-help & how-to

Practical books readers can act on: clear chapters, exercises and examples, written in a warm voice that sounds like you coaching them.

Best for: coaches, therapists, trainers, educators

Fiction from your outline

Bring the plot, characters and world; we write the novel. You approve the outline and a sample chapter before full drafting begins.

Best for: authors with a strong idea but limited writing time

Memoir

What the Fire Left

Thirty years at Station 14

In 1998, I joined Station 14 at the age of twenty-two. My father, who had been a firefighter for thirty years, drove me to my first shift. He didn’t say much. Neither did I.

We passed the bakery on Elm Street—the one that burned down three years later—and he pointed at its chimney. “That one’s going to go one day,” he said. He was right. He usually was.

What he didn’t tell me, what nobody tells you, is that the fires are the easy part. It’s the quiet afterwards that stays with you: the kitchen table still set for breakfast, the dog waiting on the lawn, the family standing on the sidewalk in borrowed coats, watching us roll up the hoses.

The brief

A lifetime of stories, no time or appetite to write them down, and a promise to his grandchildren.

How we wrote it

Weekly recorded calls, a timeline built from logbooks and photos, and chapters reviewed as we went so every scene sounded like him.

Excerpts shared with the author’s permission. Names and identifying details are changed to protect client confidentiality.

Book a confidential discovery call
How it works

From first conversation to finished manuscript

Your main job is to talk. Expect around one to two hours a week of interviews and chapter reviews.

  1. Discovery call

A free, confidential call about your story, audience and goals. If ghostwriting isn't the right fit, we'll say so.

  2. Writer match & outline

You meet your writer, sign the agreement and NDA, and approve a chapter-by-chapter outline before drafting starts.

  3. Interviews & chapters

Recorded sessions around your schedule. Chapters arrive every few weeks for your comments and changes.

  4. Revision & handoff

Full-manuscript revision, then (if you want it) editing, cover and publishing — with the same team.

Pricing, honestly

What does a ghostwriter cost?

Professional book ghostwriting is a significant investment, and prices vary widely across the market. We'll give you a fixed quote after the discovery call — and never ask for the full fee up front.

  • Target word count and how much research is involved
  • Number of interview hours
  • Writer experience in your genre or industry
  • Deadline — rush projects need more writer time
  • Whether editing, design and publishing are included
Included in every project

Every ghostwriting project includes

  • Signed NDA and written agreement
  • Chapter-by-chapter outline for your approval
  • Recorded interviews and transcripts
  • Two revision rounds on the full manuscript

Why authors trust us

How we protect your book, your money and your rights

Authors are right to be careful — the industry has plenty of companies that over-promise. Here's exactly how we work.

Your accounts stay in your name

Your KDP, IngramSpark and ACX accounts are created in your name, so royalties are paid straight to you.

Milestone payments

You pay in stages tied to work you have seen and approved, never the whole fee up front for large projects.

You own everything

Copyright, files and ISBNs (when you buy your own) belong to you. You receive editable source files.

No sales guarantees

Anyone who guarantees bestseller status or sales is guessing. We give you honest forecasts and the reasoning behind them.

Written scope before you pay

A plain-English agreement lists deliverables, revision rounds and dates, so nothing is left to memory.

Independent, not "Amazon"

We are an independent author-services team. We never claim to be Amazon, KDP or any retailer.

FAQ

Ghostwriting: your questions, answered

How does ghostwriting work?

You share your story, ideas or expertise in recorded interviews. Your ghostwriter turns them into an outline and then chapters, which you review as they are written. When the manuscript is finished, you own it outright and publish it under your own name.

Will people know I used a ghostwriter?

Only if you tell them. Your writer signs an NDA and is never named without your written permission. Many well-known books are ghostwritten; it's a normal, legitimate part of publishing.

How much time do I need to give?

Plan on roughly 8–20 hours of interviews in total, spread over several months, plus time to read and comment on chapters. We schedule around your calendar, including evenings and weekends across US, UK, Canadian and Australian time zones.

How long does ghostwriting take?

Most books take four to nine months from first interview to finished manuscript, depending on length, research and how quickly you review chapters. You get a written schedule before we start.

How do payments work?

In stages — typically a deposit to begin, then payments tied to delivered and approved chapters. Be cautious of anyone who wants the full fee before any writing is done.

Do you use AI to write books?

No. Your book is written by a human professional from your interviews. We may use tools for transcription, but the writing, structure and voice are human work — and you get a declaration saying so if a publisher asks.

Free consultation

Start with a confidential conversation

Answer a few questions about your book. A ghostwriting consultant will reply with next steps and an honest view of cost and timeline — no pressure.

  • A real consultant reads your answers — not a bot or a sales script.
  • A written plan and fixed quote — within one business day, with no obligation.
  • Your manuscript stays confidential — NDA available on request from the first call.

Questions authors ask us before they start

Pick the question closest to your situation. You'll get a straight answer here — and you can take it further with your own AI assistant if you'd like a second opinion.

Still unsure? Ask a real consultant — it's free and there's no obligation.

No. The story, memories and opinions are yours; the writer helps you express them. It becomes a problem only if a book claims facts that aren't true. Many readers never know — and many wouldn't mind if they did.
